QA Automation Engineer


The Senior Automation Engineer in New York, New York will have the following primary duties:
* Code functions, classes, and methods to support automated tests
* Code test scripts using Java, JavaScript, and VB
* Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts to validate that systems are fit for purpose
* Implement automation tests using tools like Selenium, SoapUI, or Rational
* Identify, analyze, and report test results for automated test scripts
* Manage QA automation projects and processes
* Mentor junior staff members in technical designs and automation techniques
* Manage test suite for multiple projects
* Alert the Development Team to product design inconsistencies and/or deviations from standards and recommend alternatives that would lead to a more optimal user experience
* Provide input in developing quality assurance standards in regards to functional, regression, performance, and load testing
* Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge
* Develop effective relationships within and among departments and other teams' members

The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
* Strong knowledge of Java and JavaScript
* 2 solid years of coding functions and tests in Java and Java scripts
* Hands-on experience of Selenium Core and RC (not just Selenium IDE)
* Minimum 7 years of writing automated scripts using Java and JavaScript
* Knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts and programming
* Experience with altering codes and creating new complex functions
* Understanding of how leading Web browsers function (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome)
* Minimum 5 years of working with client / server and RIA Web-based applications
* Minimum 5 years of working with schemas and writing SQL queries
* Minimum 5 years of working with Eclipse
* Ability to write test cases following use case methodology
* Strong technical and analytical skills
* Strong organizational and communication skills; verbal and written
* Ability to work well independently and in teams
